Ana Min Wein (Where am I From)?
In this visual diary from New York-based artist Nouf Aljowaysir, an AI assistant attempts to support her journey to learn more about her heritage, only to discover the limitations and stereotypes ingrained in machine learning.
This work is part of the PATH AI commissions created by artists and researchers Nouf Aljowaysir, Juan Covelli, and Chris Zhongtian Yuan for the PATH-AI residency programme. The works reflect on the creative potential, challenges and limitations of human-AI relationships.
About
Ana Min Wein (Where Am I From?) combines film footage, movie clips, old family photos and Google Images to meditate on migration and memory using the tools of AI.
