Sidsel Meineche Hansen
Sidsel Meineche Hansen is a multi-media artist whose work spans wood, clay, metal, CGI animation, VR and video.
Hansen's practice explores how things are made and industrially produced, particularly relating to the gendering or functioning of objects. Her work examines the industrial complex of the porn, adult entertainment and pharmaceutical industries, focusing on the mass production of the female gender through digital means.
Meineche Hansen participated in 59th International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia, The Milk of Dreams (2022) and is a bursary recipient of the 2020 Turner Prize. Sidsel was in residence at Somerset House Studios in 2024 to develop her Channel commission, Grumpy, 2025.
